We put on our first broadcast at ATA last Wednesday. Mary Jean, Anne Marie, Corina, Catherine, Ben and I, plus a gang at ATA: Kent and Fara long term, plus volunteers for that night.
It was totally fun. About twenty minutes before air-time I had a complete loss of confidence. Harrison at KPOO came through though and it came off and the room got about 36 square miles bigger than it had been, another installment of Mary Jean’s floating broadcast schoolroom.
We have three nights, one each in May June and July, as this phase of the Ohlone Profiles project. The idea is to introduce several Ohlone leaders to film makers and independent radio producers in the Mission. We ware building toward making a film/public art projection onto Coit Tower in the Fall with the International Indian Treaty Council.
Ben Wood, Dogpaw and I are planning to put recorded audio, video, photographs and art from the profiles project up on this site and to support people to use them. We are planning a media confab on Nov. 14th, and another series of evening events in the fall.

Hi neil,
sounds like a great event sorry I missed it.
Oh, I was there!
My best to all of those who were able to be present during this year”s event. Great job!! My prayers and best intentions are with you. Your dedication to the visibility of Ohlone people will not be forgotten. We ARE the living history that our children, grand-children and great-grandchildren will talk about. They will tell your story… Charlene Sul, Chair Confederation of Ohlone People. Readers, if you are Ohlone, want to learn about Ohlone people register at: http://www.ohlonenation.org/?page_id=92
Best of luck to you all. I was born here and always wanted to know about the native people. Hopefully the internet will help you. Good luck.
